Living in Worcester I am spoilt by the wonderful countryside around me and am inspired by the diverse rural and coastal vistas this wonderful country has on offer. I use a variety of techniques and materials to create my textile pieces using recycled fabrics, yarns and threads where possible, mixing patterns, vibrant colours and textures. I often dye, paint, print backgrounds before fusing with fabric to achieve my textural pieces.
Whilst out exploring I will take photographs, sketch or collect ‘bits n bobs’ to inspire my work when I am back in my studio. I also enjoy trying new techniques for my own development which I will then sometimes incorporate into my work.
