My art work covers more than one genre, but my particular passion is landscape. I love to explore the differing views of places; the countryside, hills, fields, skies, coastlines, and investigate how to convert them into two dimensional equivalents.
I endeavour to evoke the light, space, colour, energy and mood of a specific moment in my work, and attempt to convey the essence of these elements to others.
I mainly use acrylic paints and apply them onto canvas, board or paper using brushes, palette knives, rags or my fingers. I work from sketches and photographs, and often rework my older paintings.
My influences include the British Artists Kirt Jackson, David Tress, Joan Eardley and Fred Cuming.
