I am delighted to have been invited to exhibit my work alongside that of fellow artist Fiona Boult in the lovely surroundings of her garden studio. For my own part I will be showcasing a range of paintings, mixed media and textile pieces, many of which have been inspired by personal observation of the world around me, and the Malvern Hills in particular.

By working intuitively I aim to capture the essence of a place or subject through the use of a range of simple brush, pen, pencil or stitched marks. As a result my work ranges from being quite realistic through to abstract or semi abstract. Throughout Open Studios I will be on hand to demonstrate my mark making techniques – it is really quite amazing just what one can create using a bit of chopped up ‘credit’ card and a small amount of paint or ink!

Fiona and I look forward to welcoming you to view our work, have a chat, flip through a sketchbook (or two), watch an informal demonstration and maybe grab a quick cuppa.
