A trans/non-binary Artist exploring themes of gender identity within their work, combining textiles and paint to create various textures. This artist has taken a cubist approach as they show the complexity of people as if they have pulled them apart to reveal fragments of being. In the previous year of Open Studios Aya has experimented with single use objects and how they can be transformed, this time it is about looking at objects and looking at all the layers that are already present. This work is about observing a person or object without limiting them to the surface or names. When we reveal layers we connect more, understand more and unveil compassion.
