My love of fabric and thread comes from childhood. I am seduced by the simplicity of a stitch and how it can evolve into powerful imagery. Every piece of art I create has a connection to the women who have stitched before me: spinners, weavers, dressmakers, and menders. It is innate in me: to want to create; to want to stitch; to want to express.

My work endeavours to capture the essence of a time, place, and people. Exploring personal journeys and recollections woven together with stitch and fabric. This combined with my lifelong love of life drawing and the human form allows me to explore the connections and impact between the two.

The pieces are often created to commission and often involve the deep exploration of memories, geographical information, and historical research.
The studio is set in three acres of quiet garden. The old vegetable packing barn has been sensitively converted into artist studios and workshop space.
