Artform: Blacksmithing & Metalwork, Glasswork, Multidisciplinary, Sculpture
Paul Burton is a contemporary sculptor based in Worcestershire, UK, who transitioned to full-time artistry in 2017 after a successful career in the mining supply industry. His ‘Earthlight’ sculptures, crafted from steel, slate, and glass, reflect his global experiences and aim to provoke thought on resource management and environmental impact.
These works are often displayed in landscapes, oriented towards the rising or setting sun, to enhance their visual and thematic impact. Paul’s extensive experiences in diverse locations—from the Gobi Desert to the Arctic Circle—have profoundly influenced his artistic vision.
His distinctive creations combine steel, slate, and glass, drawing inspiration from the earth’s resources. He refers to his works as “Earthlight” sculptures, designed to integrate seamlessly into natural landscapes and provoke contemplation about humanity’s relationship with the environment.
His sculptures are showcased in the gardens of Kenswick Manor, Worcestershire, designed by multi-Chelsea Gold Medal-winning garden designer Peter Dowle. This setting offers an excellent backdrop for his work, allowing visitors to experience the pieces in harmony with nature.
